The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office says that firefighters are responding to a house fire in Centerville.
According to a post on the department’s Facebook page, both deputies and firefighters were on scene. There were no reports from officials of injuries or extent of the damage caused by the fire. A KATC viewer says that no one was home at the time.
Motorists were being advised to avoid the area while crews worked to put out the blaze.
The Franklin, Centerville, Bayou Vista, and Patterson Fire Departments were responding, according to one person at the scene.
