St. Mary Parish superintendent announces retirement

The leader of St. Mary Parish education is retiring after 33 years in education. Superintendent Leonard Armato released a statement today announcing his retirement.

“I consider it a privilege to have been blessed to spend my entire educational career in St. Mary Parish as a teacher, coach, assistant principal, supervisor, and superintendent. I would like to thank the board for giving me the opportunity to serve as your Superintendent for the past 4 years. It has been a pleasure to work with each of you to provide a quality education for all students in St. Mary Parish Schools.”

Armato goes on to say he is confident the school system will continue to grow and be successful moving forward.

Armato’s retirement will take place effective June 30, 2019
