FRANKLIN–A new police chief will take office in the new year.
The city council voted Tuesday night to appoint Morris Beverly as the city’s new police chief. His commission will take effect on January 7.
Beverly will succeed interim chief Tina Thibodeaux. Thibodeaux assumed the chief’s office in June after former chief Sabria McGuire resigned.
