A Lafayette man is wanted in connection to a number of burglaries and attempted burglaries in the Cecilia area.
According to the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called out on Monday June 17, shortly after 9:00 p.m. to a report of a man trespassing on properties in the Alcide Bonin area of Cecilia.
Along with that call, the sheriff’s office says that deputies also responded to reports of two burglaries in the same area. An investigation revealed that a man had been observed allegedly knocking on the doors of random residences in a three block area.
On Tuesday, investigators obtained video surveillance from homes in the area and identified the suspect as 26-year-old Larry Gobert of Lafayette.
A warrant was issued on one count of Criminal Trespassing and one count of Attempted Simple Burglary against Gobert. The sheriff’s office says Gobert is also wanted for questioning in connection with other burglaries in the area.
Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Larry Gobert is asked to contact the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office (337) 394-3071 or via messenger on the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
The investigation remains ongoing.
