The St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office says one person is dead following a shooting in Arnaudville.
Deputies say that shortly before 4:30 p.m. they responded to a report of a shooting in the 1600 block of Drauzin Road.
Upon arrival, deputies say that a man was found dead from a gunshot wound.
Neighbors tell KATC that this type of crime is not common in the area.
“I’m scared, nothing ever happens like that here,” a neighbor who lives next door to where the shooting happen said.
“We were inside the kitchen, I heard the gun shots, and then I saw the body so they called cops.”
Neighbors who spoke to KATC say the victim in this shooting did not live in the area.
This case is being treated as a homicide. No arrests have been made.
