Louisiana State Police have identified the person killed in a single vehicle crash on LA Hwy 96 in St. Martin Parish.
Troopers say that around 6:00 pm on Tuesday, June 11, investigated a single vehicle fatality crash on LA Hwy 96 east of LA Hwy 347 in St. Martin Parish. The crash took the life of 29-year-old Mckenzie J. Fontenette of St. Martinville.
State Police say that the crash occurred as Fontenette was driving east on LA 96. For unknown reasons, Fontenette’s vehicle traveled off the roadway to the right and struck a tree.
Troopers say that Fontenette was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and suffered fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Martin Parish Coroner’s Office.
This crash remains under investigation.
