A St. Martinville man has been arrested on First Degree Rape following a report of alleged sexual abuse.
Officers say that on May 1, 2019, deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report of alleged sexual abuse regarding a juvenile. Investigators initiated an investigation into the allegations and as a result, a warrant for 27-year-old Eric Smith was obtained.
Deputies arrested Smith on June 7, 2019, and booked him with First Degree Rape
Following his arrest, he was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center. No bond had been set.
