At 96 years old, World War II veteran Sid Hardy is one of St. Martin Parish’s  most knowledgeable residents. In fact, Parc Hardy, the setting for the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival, bears his family’s name.

“It was named for my great-grandfather, Jules Hardy,” he said.

So who better to tell us what to do and see when in town for the festival than Sid?!

“We believe in having good times,” said Hardy. “Most of the people work hard, but at the same time, they want to have a good time!”

Hardy’s Top 3 “must do’s” include:

Downtown Breaux Bridge: “There are lots of little shops downtown, you can go to see them different places.”

Lake Martin: “Lake Martin is very, very nice and if you want to see Alligators, you’ll see some alligators around that place there!”

Crawfish: “Crawfish are a big thing and it in the next week, we’re going to have different people from the US here to enjoy themselves!”

Hardy also recommends to bringing your dancing shoes. “They like to dance in this part of the country they dance in the morning, evening and night!”
