Senior citizens in St. Martin Parish are getting out and getting to know the people in their community.
The Council on Aging group put on its annual Christmas luncheon at the St. Francis Church hall today.
Everyone was able to enjoy a meal and music together and win door prizes.
“We have many seniors who are isolated and lonely, not just during the holiday season, but on a daily basis,” Shanese Lewis, Executive Director of Council on Aging. “And so at times like this, we can get them out of the house, we provide transportation for them to get here, and they have opportunities to be social.”
