$500 for a splash, how about $1000? That was the fundraising goal to get two administrators at St. Bernard Catholic School in Breaux Bridge into the Bayou Teche on Friday.

The school is holding their annual fundraiser for Catholic education. The goal every year is to make education more affordable to more families by helping out with tuition fees.

On Friday, Principal John Paul Masterson and Fr. Garrett McIntyre pledged to jump into the Teche if they reached their goals. Masterson at $250 and McIntyre at $1,000. Within four hours of that pledge, both were jumping into the water.

Students and staff gathered at the banks of the river, which runs right near the school to watch the two take the plunge. You can watch them below:

The fundraiser goes on until November 26, 2018. They have raised $2,500 so far towards Catholic education.
