“Cleco is committed to improving the quality of life for citizens across Louisiana,” said Steve Segura, Cleco manager of origination and retail retention.  “Cleco is proud to give the St. Bernard/St. Francis Food Pantry a hand in their efforts to feed the less fortunate of St. Martin Parish.”

The St. Bernard/St.Francis Food Pantry Thrift Store was established in 1983 providing gently used clothing and food to those in need.  The thrift store then evolved into the food pantry and continues to grow each year, having distributed over 184,000 pounds of food to 527 families in 2017.  The organization operates solely from the generosity of local food drives, the Second Harvest Food Bank and local supporters, such as Cleco.

“We are so grateful for Cleco’s generous donation to the St. Bernard/St. Francis Food Pantry,” said Ricky Calais, mayor of Breaux Bridge. “A successful community is one which its people, its business community and local government come together to provide assistance for those in need. Cleco has been a great corporate citizen and has consistently stepped up to the plate in helping those in need. We appreciate them very much and look forward to working with them in the future.”
