Employee arrested, accused of stealing funds from St. Martinville business

A St. Martinville woman has been arrested accused of stealing over 25,000 in funds over several years from a local business.

St. Martin Parish deputies arrested 52-year-old Yvette Bourque on theft charges. On September 17, 2018, investigators began an investigation following a report of possible theft of funds at L.P. Bourque Wrecker Service & Paint and Body Shop.

Following an investigation into the allegations, investigators say that Bourque, a long-term employee at the business,  had allegedly stolen a large number of funds over several years.

Bourque was arrested Thursday, September 20, 2018, and charged with the following:

1 Count theft over $25,000

Following her arrest, Bourque was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center. Her bond was set at $200,000.00.
