The Acadiana Native Plant Project is honoring one of its founders.
The group dedicated the June Walker Memorial Greenhouse at the NUNU Arts and Culture Collective in Arnaudville this evening.
Walker died last year.
Her family donated her library and the greenhouse to the group to help keep her legacy alive.
“I took her handwritten notes into the greenhouse with me when I started, and I wondered: how am I going to do this? She had it all right there for me. It was wonderful,” said Donna Weifenbach.
