Installation of the artificial turf football field at Breaux Bridge High School is back on schedule. The project was expected to be completed in July but was put on hold after it was determined the shock pads proposed by the contractor for use under the turf did not meet safety specifications.
The school board worked out a settlement between the contractor and the district.
The school board has now authorized the contractor to complete the turf field using a pad initially proposed by the board that meets those requirements
Superintendent Dr. Lottie BeeBe says the field should be finished by September 1. Breaux Bridge High School’s first home football game is scheduled for September 14.
