The St. Martinville Police Department has identified a suspect they say is wanted in connection with the shooting death of Malik Filer.
Police say an arrest warrant has been issued for Daylon “Ko Ko” Alexander for second-degree murder.
Relatives say 17-year-old Malik Filer’s mother had just dropped him off at his aunt’s house on North Vivier Street when someone ran up to him and shot him multiple times Sunday, August 5, 2018.
Officers located Filer who had sustained several gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died.
