Later today, girls will be returning home after learning how to hunt and fish at Kops & Kids in St. Landry Parish.
The weekend-long camp is put on by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office and is intended to teach and inspire kids between the ages of 9 and 13.
The camping experience also serves as a good opportunity to build a relationship between kids and law enforcement officers, being that the campers are chaperoned by full-time officers.
This weekend’s Kops & Kids is the sheriff’s office’s 30th camp.
Plans for the boys’ Kops & Kids are underway.
