The Opelousas Police Department says that officers are investigating a homicide in the city.
Major Mark Guidry says that a victim suffering from a gunshot wound was transported to Opelousas General Hospital on Tuesday morning.
Investigators say they are trying to establish the actual location where the incident occurred.
Viewers say that the shooting happened on Ina Claire Drive.
Police say they will release more details shortly. The name of the person killed has not been released.
