A St. Landry Parish teachers union is calling on the school board to fire Superintendent Patrick Jenkins.

In a letter obtained by KATC the St. Landry Association of Dducators accuses Jenkins of not having a clear vision, disrespecting staff members, and failing to follow board policy.

Jenkins spoke with KATC on Thursday but declined to comment on the allegations.

The union’s president Jamal Taylor says this issue is causing a distraction and taking away from their main priority… the children.

“My hope would be that the board immediately launch an investigation into the claims made therein. An independent investigation, not done by board members, but done by an outside party. And that the facts are the facts as presented, and that there be a decision made based on those facts,” Taylor said.
