Amanda Ryder and Randy Arcement were arrested April 23 by the Krotz Springs Police Department after receiving a call from animal control regarding two neglected dogs.

Officers and animal control arrived at the scene and say they observed two medium sized dogs confined to a small dog pen. The dogs were reportedly covered in feces and underweight, according to the department.

The department says that proper food, water, or shelter were not provided for the animals. The investigation also found that neither dog had received veterinary care.

The dogs were seized by St. Landry Parish Animal Control & Rescue and treated. Animal Control says on their Facebook page that the animals were severely underweight and had burns on their pads from standing in urine and feces.
