OPELOUSAS–North and Southwest Elementary Schools will be closed after the current school year ends.
The St. Landry Parish School Board voted to shutter the schools during a meeting Monday.
The board also approved the reorganization of the remaining elementary schools in the city. Grolee, Park Vista, and Northeast will house grades Pre-K to 4. South Street Elementary will house fifth and sixth grades.
