The St. Landry Parish Chamber of Commerce will be celebrating 100 years of service to the community.
The organization, under the direction of CEO Raquella Manuel, is hosting a Centennial Gala Celebration to commemorate the date.
The chamber was founded on March 21, 1919, as an organization focused on empowering small businesses in Opelousas. As of 2019, that service has spread throughout the parish of St. Landry.
The Chamber of Commerce Gala will be held at Evangeline Downs Event Center on March 22, 2019 . The celebration Friday is inspired by “The Great Gatsby.”
“We want this event to truly be a party for every individual, business, and organization that has supported us for 100 years. We will take our guests back in time to the founding of our organization and ‘WOW’ them with entertainment that you would typically only find in some of the largest cities in the country.”
