The Opelousas Police Department says officers are continuing to investigate a shooting this morning in Opelousas.
Police say the incident occurred at around 5:00 am near the intersection of Grolee and Wallior Streets. One person was shot in the leg during the incident. Police say the man was transported by a personal vehicle to a local hospital. He is in stable condition.
The victim was reportedly driving through the area in his vehicle when he was fired upon. Police say the person who fired at the victim was either in another vehicle or on the side of the roadway.
An investigation is ongoing.
