A Port Barre man is dead following a fatal three-vehicle crash on US 190 Tuesday night in St. Landry Parish.

According to State Police, 28-year-old Kyle Savoy of Port Barre was killed on Tuesday night following a three-vehicle crash on US 190 near LA 743. Troopers say that Savoy was driving south on LA 743 in a 1997 Chevrolet Suburban when he entered onto US 190, crossed the westbound lanes and entered the eastbound lanes

There, Savoy was simultaneously struck by two vehicles traveling eastbound.

Savoy, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle, according to Troopers. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Landry Parish Coroner’s Office. Troopers say the other two drivers were wearing seatbelts and received minor injuries as a result of the crash.

Toxicology tests are pending. An investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
