Louisiana Equine Council holds annual meeting in Opelousas

The Louisiana Equine Council is informing the public about their plans for 2019.

The council held their annual meeting this morning at the St. Landry Parish Farm Bureau Office in Opelousas.

The meeting was open to all equine council members and members of the community who have a role or interest in the state’s equine industry.

During the meeting, the council discussed business from last year, and new proposals for this year were presented to allow discussion and input from group members.

Among the speakers were Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser and Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry Dr. Mike Strain.
