The Port Barre Police Department says a Sunset woman was arrested, charged with a DUI after driving to the jail to bond out an inmate.

Police say that Thursday, January 10, 2019,  52-year-old Angella Arnaud of Sunset was arrested by Port Barre Police for DUI 2nd Offense.

Officials report that Arnaud drove to the Port Barre Police Department to bond out an inmate.  After walking into the building,  officers say they immediately noticed she was slurring her speech and smelled of alcohol.

A field sobriety test was conducted which Port Barre Police say she failed to pass. Arnaud allegedly refused to submit to a chemical test and was booked into the Port Barre jail.

Records show that Arnaud was recently arrested by the St. Landry Sheriff’s Office in November 2018. That arrest was on a bench warrant for failing to appear in court for a prior DUI arrest.
