Repairs to a broken line at the Opelousas City Water Plant is now complete but a boil advisory is still in affect.
As of Friday morning, the damaged 16″ main ductile line was complete.
Opelousas officials say that a city-wide boil advisory is still in effect until water samples are submitted and approved by the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals.
Residents are asked to boil their drinking water for 3 minutes before drinking.
