Services set for Opelousas tax services owner

Funeral services have been set for president and founder of Thierry Tax Services James L. Thierry.

Thierry died Tuesday morning due to complications from a serious medical condition.

The Opelousas native faithfully served his community for the past 25 years as the owner of Thierry Tax Services.

Thierry was “a visionary entrepreneur with exceptional intuition and work ethic. Under James’ direction, the company developed thriving offices in Opelousas and Eunice, meeting the tax consulting needs of individuals and businesses,” a press release states. “He did this while never compromising his core values and his unfailing commitment to the region of his birth. He was the utmost professional in all his business dealings, serving additionally as a certified notary public and as a member of the Louisiana Society of Enrolled Agents.”

Thierry was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses and a Saints fan.

Thierry Tax Services will continue to operate until further notice in accordance with the values and direction of its founder, the release states.

Funeral services will be held at the Melancon Funeral Home in Opelousas on December 22 at 11:00 a.m.
