Hunters for the Hungry held their annual “clean out your freezer” event today.
The group collected frozen meat from hunters who are making room for the fall hunting seasons, as they do annually.
“There’s a lot of need, there’s a lot of people who need food, and we’re able to really help the people in our community who come through our program,” Johnny Carriere, Executive director of The Refinery Mission tells KATC. “It’s vital for the sustainment of those who need help.”
Today’s collection will help The Refinery, a men’s shelter. The group collected meat at seven different locations in Acadiana today.
