Avoyelles deputies have arrested a band director and booked him with child pornography.

Joshua Reeves, 35, of Hessmer, was booked with pronography involving juveniles today, Avoyelles Parish Sheriff's deputies say. His bond was set at $250,000.

The investigation began on September 20, when the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) began to investigate a suspect downloading child pornography. Further investigation revealed the suspect was a Teacher in the Rapides Parish School System.

The investigation is still on-going. More evidence and/or charges may be forthcoming, deputies say.

Records at the Rapides Parish School Board show that Reeves was appointed a full-time music teacher at Bolton High School in Alexandria in 2010. His LinkedIn profile states he is Director of Bands at Bolton High. That profile also states he was the Director of Bands at Mamou High School between January and June 2010.
