It's been a little over three years since Corporal Michael Middlebrook was shot and killed in the line of duty, and the foundation established in his honor is hoping to keep his legacy alive by giving back to those in need.

The Middlebrook Foundation is hosting its third annual Holiday Giveback for families in need this holiday season. The foundation will provide a dinner and gifts to the families chosen. If you'd like to nominate yourself or someone else, in 200 words or less explain why the person you or the person you're nominating should be chosen. All entries should be submitted to giveback@middlebrookfoundation.com by December 13, 2020.

The foundation's goal is to empower and provide quality of life for children and families, and support surviving families of law enforcement officers that experience catastrophic circumstances. It also aims to help the homeless and others in need in the community.

Cpl. Middlebrook was shot and killed in the line of duty on October 1, 2017, while responding to a call at a Moss Street convenience store.
