A woman who attended the Krewe of Bonaparte ball Monday night in Lafayette is putting out a call to local residents to help find a family heirloom that she says was stolen from her table.

In a Facebook post, Lisa Landry LaCombe said she and her husband stepped away from their table at the ball to dance "for maybe 15 minutes." When they returned, she found that her grandmother's 96-year-old mink stole had been taken.

LaCombe says she is heartbroken, adding, "Now I can't pass down this beautiful treasure to my daughter that my grandmother passed down to me."

She is asking for area residents to share her post, hoping that someone will see the stole and it will be returned to her. LaCombe added that she, "would just like the jacket back."
