LSUE professional development courses offered

EUNICE, lA. - LSU Eunice's Office of Continuing Education announced it would host several professional development courses in January and February.

OHSA 10 Certification is January 18 from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. at LSUE in the Community Education Building. Topics include identification of workplace hazards, fall protection, and industrial forms knowledge. Registration for the course is $100 per person. The instructor, Larry Meaux, has more than 25 years of experience in safety training and safety audits.

ServSafe Food Safety Management is February 22 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The ServSafe program provides food safety training exams and educational materials to foodservice managers. At the end of the course, students will earn the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification. Registration is $110 per student, and the deadline to register is January 22.

Private Investigation 40-Hour Prep Course is held over two weekends. The courses will run January 24-26 and January 31-February 2. Students may take the state exam on the last day of class to become eligible for a state license at an additional cost. Michael J. Pivarnik, a licensed, experienced instructor, will teach the course with a mixture of classroom instruction and hands-on training. Registration for the class is $365 per student, and the optional $50 exam fee. The deadline to register is January 17.

Notary Public Exam Prep 52-hour course is an online class offered in conjunction with LSU Shreveport. The course is an introduction to notary public fundamentals. The course registration is $430, with a February 12 deadline. After the deadline, the course will cost $450.
