Posted
and last updated

Members of the Louisiana Master Horseman Group are raising money with their 11th annual trail ride and cookout.

The event raises money to help fund work with local 4-H equine participants.

The group will also be honoring the Louisiana Master Horseman of the year, a New Iberia man.

Participants will gather in Melder on November 7-8 for the benefit.

The Master Horseman program is an LSU Ag Center event that encourages people to become better trained with their horses, according to Howard Cormier with the LSU Ag Center. Students will be better prepared to "intern, [and] can serve as volunteer leaders to teach kids and other adults."
