Local search and rescue team gathering supplies for those affected by Dorian

The Cajun Coast Search & Rescue Team is asking for donations to help those in areas affected by Hurricane Dorian.

The group has designated several drop off locations in Acadiana for the supplies with more to come in the next few days. The following is a current list of locations:

  • St Mary Parrish Fire District 11
  • Jeanerette Fire Department
  • Bayou Vista Vol. Fire Department

A list of the items needed are below:

  • WATER - There will be a large need for this!
  • Non-perishable food items
  • Personnel Hygiene Items - Liquid Soap, Deodorant, Shampoo, Conditioner, Hair Brush, Tooth Brush, Tooth Paste, Mouth Wash, Etc)
  • Cleaning Supplies - Bleach, Disinfectant Wipes, Brooms, Mops, Buckets, Etc
  • Blankets
  • Pillows
  • Bath Towels and Rags
  • Clothing - From infant to adult 2xl
  • Diapers - ALL Sizes
  • Baby Food and Formula

The Cajun Coast Search & Rescue Team asks that if you want to contribute but don't live in an area close to a drop off point, please call the at (985) 253-1436 message their Facebook Page and the team will work to find a solution.
