EUNICE, La. — A local charity organization is asking for help from the community for a trip to Michigan this weekend to help out those impacted by the recent flooding.
Dwayne's Dream Team, which is a non-profit organization based in Eunice is working with the United Way of Midland Michigan for a trip up to Michigan to deliver supplies.
According to representative of Dwayne's Dream Team, the organization is also in need of additional volunteers to help them bring the supplies to the impacted areas in Michigan.
Dwayne's Dream Team says they plan to to stay and help cook food for the volunteers and people there.
The organization says that they are in need of the following supplies:
- donated water
- cleaning supplies
- toiletry items
- food and can goods
- baby supplies
- any and all clothing
The organization also says they are looking for someone who has a refrigerated truck that they would possibly donate to make the trip to Michigan with supplies.
They add that they are accepting monetary donations to help defray costs of transporting supplies and for hotel stays for volunteering efforts.
The organization state they will pick up donation upon request and will accept donations dropped off at the following locations:
- Cafe Maison, 218 N Main St., Church Point
- Wild Child Essentials, 129 W. Landry St., Opelousas
