The cold case of a woman with ties to Acadiana was featured today on Dr. Oz.
Genetic Genealogist CeCe Moore was on the show today explaining how DNA is used to help solve cold cases.
One of the cases Moore talked about is the Louisiana woman who was found in 1991 in the so-called “Killing Fields” in League City, Texas. DNA from the victim shows she has strong genetic ties to the Broussard area.
The woman is believe to be between 24-34 years old, 5′ to 5’3″ in height, and weighed 100-130 pounds. Police believe she died six weeks before being found.
If you have any information that may help in this investigation, call Lieutenant Michael Buffington of the League City Police Department at (281) 338-8220.
