Lafayette Parish is getting ready to reassess home values and they want to make sure you know all there is about possibly freezing those values.
Because next year is a reassessment year, the values of homes and businesses can go up.
Meaning tax values could increase and in some cases by a lot.
However, if you freeze your home’s value, it will stay frozen at the current values and over the years will keep your tax bill lower.
