LAFAYETTE – Tonight, Bishop J. Douglas Deshotel lead a special Mass for the beginning of hurricane season.
Parishioners gathered at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist to pray for protection during hurricane and storm season.
In 2016, historic flooding devastated Acadiana. The last major hurricane that impacted Acadiana was Ike in 2008, which hit ten days after Hurricane Gustav that also damaged parts of Acadiana.
