A Youngsville man was arrested Friday following an investigation into allegations he raped a juvenile under the age of 13 for two years.
On May 29, a grand jury hearing took place where details of a 2018 sexual assault investigation were revealed to jury members. The investigation was conducted by the Crowley Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division. Chief Jimmy Broussard said the crimes took place between 2011 and 2013.
According to the chief, once probable cause was established, an indictment was filed in Acadia Parish against 40-year-old Shannon Faucheux for two counts of first-degree rape with a juvenile under the age of 13.
An indictment was also filed in Vermillion Parish involving the same victim for multiple sexual assault offenses.
Faucheux was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on those charges. He was later transferred to Acadia Parish Jail. His bond was set at $500,000 by Judge Kristian Earles.
