A young black bear was caught on video, running through a wooded area near the Elan Subdivision off E Broussard Road.
Agents with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries tell KATC they believe the bear came up the Vermilion River into Lafayette and is having trouble finding his way out of the populated area.
They say the bear isn’t necessarily dangerous, but if you do see the bear, give it space.
