A local baseball coach in Acadiana is being recognized by his team for his tireless dedication.

Dedication, parents of team members say, is more evident than ever since he has been coaching with a torn ACL.

Hamilton Ledet Jr. coaches two different ages groups in Broussard. 14u and 8u teams playing in what he describes as a very competitive league.

Parents of his current team contacted KATC to shed some light on his “humble and loving” personality that he shares with the community. Thursday was his final game with his current team, the D’Backs. They played tonight at the Broussard Sports Complex.

Parents say he is dedicated and “the most popular coach in the park.” Ledet had surgery on his Achilles and has been coaching from a knee walker.

Ledet is not new to helping out in the community. KATC interviewed him in 2017 during the holidays where he was giving children haircuts for free.

Ledet is a barber and Veteran, having served two tours in Iraq.
