Christian Youth Theater Lafayette will bring the hit Broadway musical “Newsies” to UL’s Angelle Hall with five public performances from Thursday, May 16 through Sunday, May 19.
Based on the 1992 film and inspired by true events, “Disney’s Newsies” tells the story of the fight between the newsboys of turn-of-the-century New York City and the titans of publishing. A strike for fair working conditions rallies the newsies to “Seize the Day,” and fight for what’s right.
The cast of over 80 Acadiana area students, ages 12 to 18, will present five public performances:
- Thursday, May 16th @ 7:00pm
- Friday, May 17th @ 7:00pm
- Saturday, May 18th @ 2:00pm
- Saturday, May 18th @ 7:00pm
- Sunday, May 19th @ 2:00pm
Tickets can be purchased in advance online atwww.cytlafayette.org for $18 or at the door for $20.
