As You Were, the Army’s national touring pop-rock band made up of active-duty Soldiers, is in Lafayette to present three free concerts.

The band, which is used in the US Army’s recruiting efforts, visited Comeaux High on Monday and was at Lafayette High today.

There also will be a free concert open to the public on Thursday, May 9 at Girard Park. The concert starts at 5:30 p.m.

The band  covers Top 40 music and performs original songs. They play approximately 230 shows a year across the U.S. at high schools, colleges and music festivals.

“The band is an asset that helps America’s youth learn about what it means to be a Soldier, and it starts conversations about the many different opportunities within the Army,” said Sgt. 1st Class Timothy Staudacher, band manager.
