LPD hosts Tactical Police Officer Association conference

Wednesday was the first day of the Louisiana Tactical Police Officer Association (LTPOA) Conference hosted by the Lafayette Police Department.

The one-week conference aims to create an environment that allows difference law enforcement agencies to meet and discuss tactical techniques and trends.

“The association is committed to bringing quality training at a low cost for our local police officers,” a release states.

Instructors have been brought in from all around the country. There are 14 teams registered for the annual competition and approximately 120 officers enrolled in the conference.

LPD says that officers are coming from East Texas and numerous cities in Louisiana to attend the conference.
