Duson Police are investigating the accident but witness accounts indicate that the child failed to stop at a stop sign on Avenue au Nord at Second Street. The driver of the truck didn’t have enough time to avoid hitting him, police ay.
The child was transported to a local hospital to be checked out; police say he had some severe scrapes and possible broken bones, but his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening. He was not wearing a helmet or any other safety gear, police say.
No citations have been issued in this crash.
