A Lafayette grand jury handed up indictments in two separate child sex cases Wednesday.

Harry Will Thomas Jr., 60, of Lafayette, was indicted on a charge of sexual battery of a juvenile and first-degree rape of a child. Both involved the same child, who is younger than 13 years old. The crimes are alleged to have occurred in 2009. Thomas is in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center, where he has been since he was arrested last week.
Matthew Grant Dennis, 40, of Carencro, was indicted on a count of molestation of a juvenile and forcible rape. He’s accused of committing the crimes in 2013, and the child involved was between 13 and 14 years old at the time.
