A boxing champion from New Orleans is helping some children in Lafayette.
Regis Prograis is the world’s top-ranked fighter in the 140-pound weight class and will be fighting for the world title in the Cajundome Saturday night. Prograis will take on WBA Champ Kiryl Relikh in the WBSS semi-final.
On Tuesday night, Prograis surprised students from local boxing gyms by hosting a ‘Youth Training Camp’ at the Corner Man Boxing Club in Lafayette. The young boxers were all given them tickets to Saturday’s fight.
