A heavy police presence was reported at a home on Courtney Drive in Maurice Friday morning.
Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Deputies say that they received a call at 5:00 am regarding an aggravated battery. One person was transported to the hospital and is receiving medical attention.
Deputies say that one person is in custody at this time.
Residents said they were concerned the situation was more severe. The sheriff’s office says that the victim is expected to be okay.
An investigation is ongoing.
