35th annual Trash Bash happening tomorrow

Project Front Yard is reminding Lafayette residents that they can take part in 35th annual Trash Bash happening Saturday for the Bayou Vermilion.

The annual clean-up event will take place from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, April 6. Participants are asked to meet at the Begnaud House across from the Beaver Park Pavilion at 500 Fisher Road at 8:00 am.

Supplies including gloves, litter bags, litter grabbers and high-visibility vests will be provided.

There is no cost to participate and Project Front Yard says that the first 100 volunteers will receive a free t-shirt.

Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own watercraft to help clean the bayou. A limited number of canoes will be provided.

After the cleanup, participants are invited back to the Begnaud House at 11:30 am for a complimentary lunch, live music, and prizes.
