The Scott Fire Department says they were dispatched this morning to a possible residential fire on Westgate Road in Scott.
Firefighters say a large tree branch broke off of a tree around 6:00 am Thursday morning in the 1400 block of Westgate Road. The branch became wedged between an electrical power line and a home as a result of Thursday morning’s storms. The tree branch caught fire and was threatening the home, according to the department.
Firefighters were able to prevent the fire from spreading to the structure’s roof.
Utility crews were called to disconnect power to the home and the burned branch was removed.
The fire department says that the residence did not sustain any damage from the tree or fire.
No one was injured.
